WoH Membership Program
Hyatt membership points can be very valuable when redeeming nights at World of Hyatt (WoH) hotels and resorts across the globe. One of the key benefits is that Hyatt will waive the resort fees and taxes when redeeming nights on points. This makes the Hyatt rewards program very enticing, and has allowed me to travel the world without having to worry about taxes and resort fees when checking out of my room. Unfortunately, the points do expire, and I’ve seen several members lose all their saved membership points by not keeping track of the requirements to keep their accounts active.
WoH Activity Requirements
The WoH program terms require members to keep their membership rewards accounts active to avoid forfeit of all saved WoH points. If a member’s account is inactive for 24 consecutive months, all points in that member’s account will be forfeited at that time. Hyatt will keep the account open, but all points will be removed from the account.
How To Keep Your Account Active
There’s a few ways to keep your account active to avoid losing out on your saved points.
- Receive Points (Earned on Stays).
- Redeem Points – Free night stays, room upgrades, dining, spa, Avis car rentals.
- Receive credit with a travel partner for a stay at a Hyatt hotel or resort.
- Gift eligible awards to another member.
- Convert points into miles/credit with a travel partner.
- Purchase points.
- Combine points with another WoH member’s account.
- Have an active Hyatt credit card associated with your WoH account.
Can WoH Points Be Reinstated?
No. If your WoH points are forfeited due to account inactivity, the points cannot be reinstated.
In Conclusion
Unfortunately, I’ve seen this happen too many times. Once the points are forfeited, Hyatt will not reinstate them. This is why it is very important to be aware of the program terms to keep the account active. With the options listed above, there are many ways to maintain the account active, including some options that are low cost and easy to complete. This will allow you to secure those valuable points for future vacations.
