The Offer: $300 bonus for opening a new KeyBank checking account and completing requirements. Offer expires March 21, 2025.

Eligibility: 

  • Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.
  • Offer not available to individuals who were a primary account owner of a KeyBank personal checking account in the last 12 months.

Step 1: Open a Key Smart checking account online with a minimum opening deposit of $10. Must use promo code: KDSA1224. The promo code will be automatically applied when opening the account through the offer page (link below). As always, verify the promo code is attached to your application. *I always take a screenshot of the promo code for future reference. 

Step 2: Make ONE eligible direct deposit of $1000 or more within 60 days from account opening.

Step 3: A $300 bonus will be deposited to your account within 60 days of meeting requirements. Account must not be closed at time of bonus payment. *Note: Recent DPs indicate the bonus is being paid out a lot sooner than the 60 days mentioned in the T&Cs. -Early account termination fee (EATF) is now showing to be $0. There used to be an EATF in the fee schedules when closing within 180 days, but now changed to $0.

The Bad:

-Not available nationwide.

-Some reports of being Chex sensitive.

Overall: An easy $300 bonus promotion for those in the eligible states. No MSFs, no EATFs, no debit card purchase requirements. A nice bonus opportunity for those that qualify.
