The Offer: $200 / $400 bonus for opening a new PNC checking account and completing requirements. Offer expires January 02, 2025.
Eligibility:
- Offer is contingent on product availability and may vary based on where you open your account and the Zip code of your primary address. For online or phone origination, the Zip code of your primary address will be used to determine product availability.
- Not eligible if you or any signer on the new account has an existing PNC consumer checking account, has closed an account within the past 12 months, or has been paid a PNC promotional premium in the past 24 months.
Step 1: Open a new checking account online through the bank’s promotional offer page or in a physical branch.
Step 2: Two bonus tiers. $400 / $200.
Virtual Wallet “Performance Select” – Complete qualifying direct deposits of $5,000 or more within 60 days from account opening. $400 bonus.
Virtual Wallet “Performance Spend” – Complete qualifying direct deposits of $2,000 or more within 60 days from account opening. $200 bonus.
Step 3: The bonus will be deposited to your account 60-90 days from meeting requirements. Account must be open to remain eligible for the bonus. *Note: Recent DPs indicate the bonus is being paid sooner than the 60-90 days mentioned in the T&Cs. See link below for our Data Points page.

The Bad:
-Performance Select checking account has a MSF of $25. Can be waived with $5k average daily balance or $5k in monthly qualifying DDs.
-Performance Spend checking account has a MSF of $15. Can be waived with $2k average daily balance or $2k in monthly qualifying DDs.
Overall: The $400 bonus promotion is very attractive for those that qualify. Check DPs for what has qualified to meet the $5k DD requirements. I completed the $400 offer and downgraded to the Performance Spend after receiving the bonus.
