Regions Bank $400 Checking Bonus
The Offer: $400 bonus for opening a new Regions “LifeGreen Preferred” checking account and completing requirements. Must register for the promotion online by March 31, 2025, then open the account by May 1, 2025.
Eligibility:Â
- Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
- Not eligible if you have or had an ownership interest in a Regions personal checking account on or after January 1, 2024.
Step 1: Register for the promotion using the bank’s offer page. You will receive a registration confirmation email. Must register by March 31, 2025.

Step 2: Open a new personal “LifeGreen Preferred Checking” account by May 1, 2025. Account can be opened online or in branch. Minimum opening deposit of $50.
Step 3: Enroll in online banking within 90 days of opening your account.
Step 4: Make $1,000 or more in qualifying ACH direct deposits within 90 days of account opening.
Summary & Links
The Good:
-Reasonable DD requirements with 90 days to complete.
-$400 bonus is very competitive.
-Reports indicate that credit card funding of up to $125 was available in the past. VISA only. Inks have coded as “purchase”.Â
The Bad:
-The “LifeGreen Preferred Checking” account has an $18 MSF. Waived with:
- $5,000 average monthly balance.
- Combined minimum deposit balances from all your Regions checking, savings, money markets, CDs, and IRAs of $25,000.
- Combined $25,000 minimum outstanding loan balances from your Regions personal installment loans, lines of credit, equity lines of credit, equity loans, direct loans, and credit cards in good standing.
- Any first-lien home mortgage with regions in any amount and in good standing.
-EATF of $25 if account is closed within 180 days.
Overall: A good $400 bonus promotion. The $18 MSF and the $25 EATF makes this less appealing, since it will take $5,000 to keep the account fee free. Downgrading to a lower tier account may be a reasonable option after receiving the $400 bonus.
