Truist $400 Checking Bonus
The Offer: $400 bonus for opening a new Truist One checking account and completing requirements. Offer expires April 30, 2025.
Eligibility:Â
- Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and D.C.Â
- Clients that are the primary account holders of an existing personal checking account or who have closed a personal checking account with Truist on or after 10-31-2023 are not eligible to participate.
Step 1: Open a new Truist One checking account online using promo code DC2425TR1400. You must open the account online and enter the promo code to enroll in the offer. Minimum opening deposit is $50.
Step 2: Receive at least 2 qualifying direct deposits totaling $1000 or more within 120 days from account opening.
Step 3: A $400 bonus will be deposited to your account within 4 weeks of meeting requirements. The new checking account must be open and in good standing, with a balance of at least $0.01 at time of Truist bonus verification. *Note: See link below for payout timelines in our Data Points page .
Summary & Links
The Good:
-Very reasonable DD requirements.
-Better terms than last checking promotion, which required the 15 debit card transactions.Â
-No EATF (early account termination fee) mentioned in the Fee Schedule.
The Bad:
-Truist One checking account has a MSF of $12. Can be waived when meeting any of the following requirements:
- Primary owner of account is 62 or older.
- Making $500 or more in total qualifying DDs per cycle.Â
- Maintain a total combined ledger balance of $500 or more in any Truist related accounts across personal deposits and all investments as reflected on the business day before your statement cycle end date.
- Having a personal Truist credit card, mortgage or consumer loan, excluding LightStream. Â
- Having a linked small business checking account.
- MSFs are waived for students under the age of 25.
Overall: A fairly easy $400 bonus promotion with a small DD requirement. The $400 is very competitive and this promotion doesn’t require the additional debit card transactions we saw on the last one. A good bonus promotion for those that qualify.
